I was born and raised in the western suburbs of Chicago and am a big Bears, Bulls, and Blackhawks fan! I came to Colorado on a full athletic scholarship to play volleyball for the University of Colorado at Boulder. Following graduation, I traveled to Europe to play volleyball professionally for Volleyball Gemeinschaft in Salzburg, Austria. I was the only American on the team coached by a German who spoke no English. What an amazing experience that was!
After a season in Europe, I missed the states and returned to Colorado. I completed my teaching license at CU Boulder in social studies as well as got my masters from CU Boulder in EECD (English Equity and Cultural Diversity) and also have my Educational Leadership Masters from Regis University. My first teaching job was at Adams City High School where I taught 9th and 10th graders as well as was an AVID teacher. After four years there, I moved to Otho E. Stuart Middle School where I taught 6th and 7th graders for six years. I was also the head girls’ volleyball coach at Brighton High School during this time.
Wanting an opportunity to work closer to home and serve the community I live in, I accepted the job at Skinner Middle School. Valuing this schools commitment to fine teaching, I am excited to be continuing my teaching career here at Skinner!
I live in Denver with my husband Phil and our 8 year old boxer named Maverick. We both play sand volleyball competitively and also belong to Crossfit Verve in Denver. We welcomed our first child on November 28, 2016, Lachlan Law!
I welcome you all to my classroom! I view education as a lifelong experience as we never stop learning. I want to help each and every one of you reach your potential in my class. I look forward to the year ahead!
